Board Makes Parttime COA Position Fulltime

REED CITY — The Osceola County Board of Commissioners voted at its meeting last week to make the part-time social services coordinator position full-time to the Commission on Aging.

“The Commission on Aging also gets outside funding,” commissioner Roger Elkins of Evart said. “So we have money for that and it’s not coming out of the general fund.”

The board also made the executive assistant position an assistant remonumentation grant administrator and to pay a stipend of $300 per year for three remonumentation grant for the position.

The commissioners approved setting two public hearings regarding the election of the Road Commission commissioners and department operations the second meeting in November and the first meeting in December at 9:30 a.m.

“We thought we’d get some pubic input on this,” Elkins said.
The board set the 2020 wage increase for non-union hourly employees, department heads and elected officials at one percent.
