It’s Halloween on Oct. 31 and Marion Community Fire Department fire chief David Turner reminds youngsters, parent, motorists and all others involved to be very careful during the trick or treat process.

“Use caution and slow down especially while going through crowded neighborhoods,” Turner said. “Parents need to make sure their kids have got some type of reflector or flashlights to carry through the dark.”

Village council president Don Gilmore said trick or treat hours are officially 5 to 8 p.m the night of Halloween.

The trunk or treat event where youngsters come to the village hall parking lot is 5:30 to 7:30 p.m., Gilmore said. Youngsters are encouraged to go to that area first and then continue with trick or treating

“That’s where the chamber sets up,” Gilmore said.
