City Elections on Tap in McBain, Lake City

LAKE CITY — Missaukee County will be having city elections for McBain and Lake City plus the McBain school bond proposal throughout portions of the county during election day next Tuesday.

Missaukee County clerk-register of deeds Jessica Nielsen provided a listing of open precincts, which will have voters for the McBain bond proposal.

The temporary consolidated voting precincts include Richland Township, which will include voters from Richland and Clam Lake Township in Wexford County; plus the City of McBain which includes city voters and those from Aetna, Holland, Lake and Reeder townships; Riverside Township with voters from Riverside, Clam Union and Winterfield Township (Clare County); plus Marion township and Highland townships in Osceola County.

Voters living in the McBain school district in those, area are eligible for the school election.

In McBain, there are no contested elections on the ballot. Running unopposed are Joey Roberts for mayor; Marcia Smith for clerk; Heidi M Heuker for treasurer and Chuck Heethuis, Michael Kubiak and Lori Warren for three council spots.

Lake City will have contested council elections. Thomas Behrendt and Brad A. Seger are running for mayor.

Danielle M. Hoblet is running unopposed for treasurer. There are four candidates for three council spots; Lewis P. Beaver. C. Grant Elmquist, Kathleen Ostrander and Eileen Selmer.
