Northern Michigan Christian Volleyball Tames Evart

The McBain Northern Michigan Christian volleyball team was able to end the regular season on a winning note Tuesday night. The Lady Comets, playing a Highland Conference game at home with Evart was able to pick up the win in straight sets, 25-23, 25-19 and 25-19.

“I’m so proud of how these girls showed up, they never gave up and fought consistently the whole game,” head coach Kenda Rivera said. “A lot of improvement showed on the court with everyone.”

Megan Bennet had 12 kills and four blocks, Alaina Rozeveld had seven kills and four digs, Madelyn Benthem had six kills and four digs and served a perfect 20-for-20 and Sydney Hart had 20 assists, three blocks and five digs. Anna Lanser also served without an error during the night, giving her a perfect serve percentage the entire season.

NMC opens division four district play on Wednesday in Buckley. The Comets play the winner of Monday’s game between Marion and Forest Area while Mesick, Buckle and Traverse City Christian are also in the district.
