Marion Christmas Celebration

December 10, 2019

On Saturday, November 30th, the Marion Chamber of Commerce hosted their annual Christmas celebration in downtown Marion. Children participated in Christmas craft-making activities at the Eagles FOE 4087, and enjoyed decorating cookies and enjoying their snacks. At the Veteran’s Memorial Park, Santa and Mrs. Clause handed out goodies and hot chocolate, while members of the Community of Christ Church sang Christmas carols. Eventgoers enjoyed horse and wagon rides around the park. A tree lighting ceremony, along with the lighting of luminary bags in honor of loved ones made for a blessed evening, despite the cold temperatures.

On Thursday, December 19th, The Marion Library will host Santa Clause at 4 pm at the Library. Hot chocolate and goodies will be provided. At 5:30 pm The Marion Friends of the Library will host a holiday concert at the Marion Township Hall, featuring Taylor Brothwell and the Community of Christ Praise Band. Food will be available for purchase, with donations welcomed to help support the Marion Public Library.
