McBain Library Continues with Story Hour

MCBAIN – McBain Community Library is continuing with its weekly preschool Story Hour for any preschool aged youngster.

Starting on Jan. 7, the story hour is 10-11 a.m. every Tuesday at the library. Library officials point out if school is closed or canceled, then Story Hour will also be cancelled. Library officials point out that free services from the library are provided to all resident who live with the city and county boundaries.

Officials say the system has close to 21,000 materials which include more than 18,000 books and 393 compact discs. The library has more than 440 DVDs eligible to be checked out.

Officials also estimate the more than 50,000 people take advantage each year of its electronic resources including the internet via library computers.

Among the services provided are resources for youngsters and teens via the Michigan Library system. Library officials point out there is a selection of teacher resources and titles aligned with CommonCore Curriculum standards which are accessible by eBooks from a computer or by downloading titles to portable devices.

The library also provides materials for college and career readiness, plus college admissions test preparation and a biography reference center.
